Serving Opportunities

Looking for ways to use your gifts?
Whether at HYA or in other areas at HBC, we welcome you to join a serving team!

WE ARE HYA:

A ministry of Harvest Bible Chapel, bringing together young adults from across Chicagoland to love God and fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). Our hope is to be a place where young adults build community, engage in the local church, open God’s Word and grow as followers of Jesus.

How do we do this? Through Gathering together, Growing in the Lord and Going out on Mission for the Gospel!

HYA Night FAQ's:

  • HYA Nights: We gather for a night of worship and teaching on the first Thursday of the month.
  • Location & Time: Rolling Meadows campus (800 S Rohlwing Road) starting at 6:30 PM.
  • Order of events:
    1. We share a meal together provided by our church and HYA volunteers.
    2. We praise the Lord together in worship
    3. We enter into a time of teaching, brought to us by one of our Harvest pastors or a guest speaker.
    4. We reflect on the message through discussion by breaking into groups, and then enter a time of prayer.
    5. After Party! Usually includes a game of volleyball in the gym, carpool down to ice cream, board games, or any sort of community building activities.

Community Group FAQ's:

Community Groups are small gatherings—typically up to 20 people—committed to pursuing biblical community, growing as followers of Jesus, and making disciples (Matthew 28:19–20). The meet once a week to review the passage taught at our Weekend Gatherings and discuss the questions given in our Growth Guide.

We hang out and get to know one another, study God’s Word, and break out into guys and girls accountability and prayer time. We welcome you to check out one of our many groups. Read more about locations below!

Where: Most of our HYA groups meet in host homes, creating a warm, welcoming environment, but some also meet onsite at your local Harvest Bible Chapel campus.

Date/Time: Most meet at 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (or later) on the 2nd-4th Thursdays of the month. However, we have groups that meet on other nights of the week.

Sign up to join: See our HYA Community Group options above on the SLIDES – Community Groups: East Campuses and Community Groups: West Campuses.

That’s totally okay—and actually pretty normal!

Community Groups are designed to be welcoming spaces where new faces are always encouraged. Most groups gather around 6:30 PM on a weekday, often starting with some casual conversation before jumping into the Growth Guide study together. Whether you’re brand new or just checking things out, you’ll be welcomed, not put on the spot, and invited to grow alongside others who are also learning to follow Jesus.

If not knowing anyone is intimidating, reach out to one of our staff who can connect you to one of our volunteer leaders:
